Harvey Memorial Classic Sept. 11-12, 2021
HARVEY MEMORIAL CLASSIC
The Harvey Memorial Classic was created some years ago to honour John Harvey, Margaret’s late husband. It was designed in a way which recognizes the value to the Club of new bowlers. The event is a triples event. Each team must include at least one player who just started to lawn bowl this year...a true novice (blue tag). Each team can have only one skip (red dot on the ranking board). The third position can be a Second (yellow tag) or Third (green tag). For the first and likely only time (as Andy Harvey will not be a novice next year) the Harveys will be able to form their own team, Margaret, Zandra and Andy Harvey.
What a competitive tournament! Ten triple teams entered.
Three teams each won all three of their games.
The winning team of George McCarter, Brian Vickers and Wayne Cope edged out a team made up of John Chatterton, Jean Ingram and Serge Tremblay, by a one point difference, +16 to +15.
A team consisting of Ralph Walker, Paul Fisher and Dennis Jackson, won all three of their games but came in third based on total point differential.
Congratulations to the winning team and all teams who came out and competed.
