Tsawwassen Lawn Bowling Club kicked off its 2026 lawn bowling season with a big Opening Day celebration on Saturday, April 11.  The clubhouse was packed with 80 members and five special guests.

              Mayor George Harvie and Councillors Dylan Kruger, Rod Binder, Daniel Boisvert and Alicia Guichon all joined the party.  The Mayor and each Councillor delivered a ceremonial opening bowl, and the only first timer, Alicia Guichon, won the contest to see who could deliver their bowl closest to the jack.  Alicia promised to return next year to defend her crown.

              After some brief remarks from our President, David Fredricksen, Mayor Harvie and Councillor Kruger, all of the members in attendance were joined by the four Councillors for a delicious burger lunch.

              After lunch, about 42 members braved the cool showery weather to participate in a random draw game.  All in all, it was another great Opening Day for our club.

              The club’s next big event will be our Open House on April 25 and 26 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.  Encourage your relatives, friends and neighbours to join us then to try out our great sport, the sport for all and the sport for life and to register to be a club member.
